Region: Piatã, Bahia

We say this every year this release comes around, and we'll say it again: Kluemon Moreira is the future of Brazilian specialty coffee.
We've been buying his coffee since his first harvest back in 2018, and it keeps getting better every single year.
Kluemon started in the industry at 17, under local icon Antônio Rigno. Since then he's gone on to farm his own land, run the day-to-day at the celebrated Cerca de Pedras for owner Silvio Leite, and become something of a local authority on variety selection and agronomy in his own right. He's even started a nursery, supplying neighbouring producers with the varieties that have served him so well, quietly pushing the quality of the whole region forward as he goes.
The locatino of Piatã helps, too. It's unusually high and cold for Brazil, with healthy, humid soil that makes for one of the more unique microclimates in the country. Pair that with Kluemon's forward-thinking approach to variety, and you get some of the most distinctive coffees coming out of South America right now.
Plant, place and person, all properly in sync, everything we look for.
Thank you, Kluemon. This coffee is stunning, as ever. We hope to visit you and your family someday.
