Seasonal Singles Duo Tasting Pack
Discover our seasonal tasting pack duo highlighting two sensational coffees from Brazil and Colombia
Kenya, Dagitu Peaberry, Washed
Expression: Sweet
Processing: Washed
Variety: SL28, SL34
Hibiscus · Black Tea · Berry · Jammy
Our first Kenyan release of the year, and it’s a banger. When we are looking for coffees from Kenya we don’t settle.
Some chase acid profiles, others sweetness or florality. We want it all. Call us greedy. Another peaberry lot, being a single bean grown inside the fruit instead of two. We think of them like twins, but in reverse. They are an anomaly and we love them for that.
Dagitu Estate is a family run farm planted in the early 1960’s on land gained during large land reforms after the 1952 Mau Mau uprising. Without giving you a long and at times depressing history lesson, essentially the British controlled all land that coffee estates operated on, as well as much more, and deliberately excluded African Kenyans from ownership and participation. Most coffees from Kenya are traced to local processing stations called factories that many small holders contribute to making traceability almost impossible past that level. We are super excited to not only bring you exquisite Kenyan coffee, but also from a fully traceable family run farm established on land reclaimed from colonial control.
Brazil, Sítio Canaã, Pulped Natural
Expression: Comforting
Variety: Topazio, Acauã
Processing: Pulped Natural
Pear · Chocolate Danish · Silky · Creamed Honey
This coffee can be summed up in a simple word: Promise.
Klumen Moreira is simply the future of coffee from Brazil as we see it. He's young, hungry, and talented, growing only varieties he sees as confronting the challenges predicted to come over the following years—and they are stunning.
The fact that Sítio Canaã literally means "Promised Land" only reinforces that we're onto something special here.
